TEN REASONS TO HAVE A BELIZE CHRISTMAS VACATION

TEN REASONS TO HAVE A BELIZE CHRISTMAS VACATION

November 26th by Oscar Castaneda for Balaam Eco Adventures

Have you been so busy that you are Planning your Christmas Vacation last minute?

When you think about it, it does make sense to start planning now to enjoy that holiday euphoria that always pervades
Belize after Thanksgiving.    And there are many great reasons to be in Belize in for a Christmas Vacation.

Here are ten great reasons:

1)TRANQUIL STRESS FREE PARADISE

Why not have a Belize Christmas Vacation?  Belize is a tiny paradise  about the size of Massachusetts with an area of 8,886 square miles and a population of 350,000.

We are bordered by Mexico in the  North, Guatemala in the West and South and by the Caribbean Sea in the East with English as the official language.

We are blessed with a rich cultural diversity and the warmest and friendliest people which is what brings visitors to Belize year after year.

From the original inhabitants of the Rainforests the Maya, Mestizos you also have the Creoles, Mennonites, East Indians, Chinese, Garifuna, Lebanese, Taiwanese, Canadians and US Expats all living peacefully in this tranquil haven of democracy.

2)CLOSE PROXIMITY TO MAJOR US PORTS OF ENTRY

With  most Airlines making their way to this tiny jewel and nestled in the heart of Central America with only two hours from Miami and Houston Airports, Belize is your perfect vacation destination.  Before you realize it, you have arrived and will be enjoying of this stress free paradise on our beautiful white sandy beaches, having a cold Belikin Beer and having  unbelizeable  Belize Adventure Tours.  Some of the major Airlines making their destination to Belize are : American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines, Taca Airlines, US Airways, United Airlines and Private Jets as well.

3)BELIZE IS VERY AFFORDABLE

Mix business with a  little fun vacation which is absolutely the best recommendation as in Belize we have an adventure and something  for every taste, budget, age, desire.  Compared to other Caribbean vacation destinations, Belize represents value for money and  is Affordable.

Sure, you can spend a lot if you’re so inclined, but there are enough free or cheap things to do that a little money goes a very long way.  Take advantage of our early Thanksgiving Specials for a limited time only or treat yourself to a Belize Christmas Vacation while enjoying huge discounts.  It’s a win- win vacation deal!

4) EXPERIENCE THE MAYA & CULTURES OF BELIZE

Climb Mayan Temples, Pyramids, Palaces and walk where the Ancient Mayas used to live, feel alive and  explore the most accessible Maya archaeological sites in the world.

If you weren’t interested in Maya history and culture before coming to Belize, you probably will be by the time you leave and you will know quite a bit about it as well.

Explore Caves as you Journey into “Xibalba”, the Mayan Underworld at Actun Tunichil Mucknal Cave (ATM) as the cave of the Stone Sepulchre or  Crystal Maiden, where you can swim in and then spend the day walking and climbing through an incredible array of artefacts, altars, stalactites, stalagmites and skeletons of sacrificial individuals.

Most visitors are amazed by how many accessible, intimate Maya ruins and sites there are in this small little country but so richly and culturally diverse.   From fascinating, easy walks through park-like Xunanthunich, Cahal Pech or the expanse of Caracol  , and travelling to Tikal in nearby Guatemala’s Peten it’s a fascinating eye opener to the novice.

5)HONEYMOONS, WEDDINGS & RENEWAL OF VOWS

The desire to marry under tropical skies at white sandy beaches, Mayan Temples with a Mayan Shaman, at the Great Blue Hole and Sky Diving for the more adventurous, wandered in our imaginations many generations ago.

There are many good reasons to visit Belize, our sunny little Caribbean jewel in Central America. Having a Belize Honeymoon , Weddings and renewal of Vows holiday in paradise is certainly one of them. Why Honeymoon, Wedding or Renewal of vows  in Belize?

Chaa Creek’s Denise Duran said “ that she believes positive word of mouth combined with the desire to do something different is behind the increase in Inquirers and bookings Belize is experiencing.

Honeymoons, Weddings and Renewal of Vows are such an important life event for  couples that they’re willing to go that extra mile to share something extraordinary, and more they’re discovering that  Belize offers the same level of quality and service that more established destinations do, but at a lower cost. “

While destination honeymoons set in exotic tropical locales have been growing in popularity in recent years, Belize is experiencing an increase in romantic couples seeking affordable luxury in an idyllic setting according to wedding and honeymoon planners.

And you won’t run short of ham, turkey and all the familiar trimmings during a Christmas in Belize than through the healthy, fun exercise you’ll get exploring the enchanting world of the Mayas.

6)DIVE THE GREAT BLUE HOLE

The Great Blue Hole  made famous by  Jacques Cousteau is one of the most astounding wonders of Belize and the world.

The Blue Hole is almost a perfect circular hole with a diameter of 1000 feet and a depth of 480 feet.  It has become one of the most popular dive sites in Belize attracting divers from all over the world.

Divers visit the Blue Hole, a wonder of nature as this under water collapsed cave was formed over centuries ago.

Feel at one with nature as you dive with sharks and rainbow coloured fishes.  This collapsed cave has sheer walls adorned with Stalactites and  with stalagmites measuring between 120 and 150 feet deep.

7)BELIZE IS A NATURE LOVERS PARADISE

Belize is a nature lover’s paradise with the most impressive beautiful scenery, rainforests sandy beaches, the largest barrier reef, 3 atolls from 4 in the Caribbean.

The climate of Belize is near perfect.  Amazing native birds and animals live in Belize as its home to wildlife reserves and sanctuaries, rivers, herbal trails, massive Mayan Temples like  Caracol which is still among the tallest man made structures in the country even to today’s date and massive systems of subterranean caves.

With approximately 40 per cent of land classified as protected, the forests support a vast range of wildlife including five large cat species: Jaguar, Puma, Ocelot, Jaguarundi and the Margay.   If you love birding we have over 620 species of both migrant and local birds which have been recorded.

8)ADVENTURE TOURS BY DAY RELAXTION BY NIGHT AND MEMORIES FOR A LIFETIME

There is plenty to do for the entire family.   The best of both worlds, as Belize Adventure Tours takes you to our awesome Rainforests and the beautiful seacoast, the largest Barrier Reef in this part of the hemisphere which is now a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO.

Sandy white beaches and over 200 palm studded cayes  (pronounced as Keys) offer unparalleled snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming, fly fishing, fishing for the Grand Slam, deep sea fishing and general angling, kayaking, boating, chartering, sunbathing,  and any almost any water sports you can think of.

Exploring the Inlands "Cayes", hiking, horseback riding to Mayan sites, canoeing, river kayaking, caving, experiencing the black hole drop, waterfall rappelling, zipline,  birding, adrenaline tours and much, much more….  and of course there are bars, restaurants, clubs, resorts and lodges throughout beautiful Belize offering a huge variety of food, beverages, music and entertainment.

9)THE CLIMATE IS NEAR PERFECT

With temperatures lazing between 71°F (22°C) with and 80°F (27°C) for a monthly average of around 75°F (24°C) in December, Belize is not too cold, not too hot… just right.   Sitting on latitude 17° N, bordering the Caribbean Sea and covered in living, breathing forest, Belize is blessed with one of the best climates in the world.   It is warm all year round, with temperatures averaging around 81°F (27°C) along the coast and about 69°F (21°C) in the hills of the interior.   We’ve found that sea breezes keep the coast and cayes quite comfortable even in the hottest months, while the vast tracts of pristine jungle seem to fulfill the same function inland.

10)YOU ARE IN BELIZE

You’re in Belize.  Think about it.  Many people want to do something different this Christmas and get away from the traditional Christmas Holiday Vacation. For many people up North, the whole winter wonderland thing is so close.

Now it’s just cold and you’re starting to dream about being somewhere with perfect weather.   However, if you’re in Belize, swimming, enjoying a nature walk, canoe trip or horseback ride in tee shirt and shorts, you’re already exactly where you want to be, doing what you want to do.

There’s something so interesting about swaying in a hammock with a beautiful view of white sandy beaches with a cool drink and a good book while the workaday world goes on without you.

Hmmmm, this is sort of a guilty pleasure without the guilt, because you’re having too much fun to worry about anything.
